Australian Tennis Star Forced to Withdraw from Grand Slam Match

De Minaur Suffers Hip Injury, Djokovic Advances to Semifinals

Australian tennis star Alex de Minaur has withdrawn from his Wimbledon quarterfinal match against Novak Djokovic due to a hip injury. The 24-year-old was forced to retire from the match while trailing 6-3, 3-1, handing Djokovic a walkover victory.

Minaur suffered the injury during his fourth-round match against Cristian Garin on Monday. He continued to play through the pain but was unable to keep up with the Serbian's pace and power. After receiving medical attention at the end of the first set, Minaur ultimately decided to withdraw from the match.

The withdrawal is a major setback for Minaur, who was one of the favorites to reach the Wimbledon final. He had reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time at this year's tournament, and was looking to become the first Australian man to reach the Wimbledon semifinals since Pat Cash in 1987.

Djokovic, meanwhile, advances to the semifinals where he will face Jannik Sinner. The 35-year-old is seeking his seventh Wimbledon title and is aiming to become the first man in the Open Era to win 21 Grand Slams.

Minaur's withdrawal is a reminder of the physical toll that tennis can take on athletes. Injuries are common in the sport, and can often derail promising careers. However, Minaur is a resilient competitor, and he will undoubtedly be back stronger than ever next season.
